Saffron Majmua Supreme Attar/Warm, Sweet, Herbaceous, Earthy, Musky, Woody/$275 oz traditional blend
Saffron Majmua Attar is a golden amber liquid displaying a incredibly warm, sweet herbaceous, earthy, resinous, musky, precious woods bouquet. As with the Majmua SuperiorAttar, and the Monsoon Majmua Superior Attar, the aromatic aura that they radiate captures to my heart and mind the very essence of Ancient India. I have had the opportunity to live in India on many occasions throughout my life and over a 6 year period from 1971-1976 lived and farmed in a small community south of Bangaluru on the Deccan Plateau 6 months a year and later traveled to many parts of India from the Himalayas to to the tip of Tamil Nadu in the south and from Assam in the far Eastern part of the country to Maharasta in the West with many places in between. In that experience I was able to experience the incredibly diverse aromatic landscape of the country but of all that I encountered the Majmua family of Attars most perfectly captures thee hidden scented landscape of the land.
Traditionally distilled Ruh Khus(wild vetiver roots from North India particularly Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh) is the core essence around which the Majmua family of attars is build with varying amounts of Ruh Kewda, Saffron, Agarwood, spices, precious and other rare essences added to give Majmua is distinctive aroma. For many years I have offered these precious attars as part of our palette of White Lotus Aromatics but it is only in the last month that I as able to locate a highly skilled perfumer in North India that I felt was making the Majmua essences to perfection.
Saffron Maujmua Superior Attar achieves its distintive beauty via a heavier concentraion of saffron and henna leaf extracts than in the other Majmua Superior. Each is radiantly beautiful just with slightly different accents
In natural perfumery it is used in Oriental bouquets, sacred perfumes, incense bouquets, amber bases, fougere. The careful blending of Monsoon Majuma Superior Attar with essences like those suggested below could give rise to a whole line of wonderful perfumes. The Majmua and Mukhallat superior series of attars posses a unique strength and radiance which lends themselves to futher perfume work in terms of dilution. I feel that they can be diluted upt to a ratio of other 25% of attar with other base oils such as Siamwood, Cabreuva, Copaiba Balsam while yet maintainiing there aromatic integrity. To this can be added subltle hints of the following oils to create new and unique variations of this two special branches of traditional Indian perfumery
