Frankincense Supreme Melange/Fruity, Resinous, Balsamic/$75oz Elegant!!! Ruh khus, ambrette seed, Ruh kewda, rose absolute
It is almost ubiquitous,--this perfume of incense. It makes one element of the faint but complex and never-to-be-forgotten odor of the Far East. It haunts the dwelling-house not less than the temple,--the home of the peasant not less than the yashiki of the prince. Shinto shrines, indeed, are free from it;--incense being an abomination to the elder gods. But wherever Buddhism lives there is incense. In every house containing a Buddhist shrine or Buddhist tablets, incense is burned at certain times; and in even the rudest country solitudes you will find incense smouldering before wayside images,--little stone figures of Fudo, Jizo, or Kwannon. Many experiences of travel,--strange impressions of sound as well as of sight,--remain associated in my own memory with that fragrance:--vast silent shadowed avenues leading to weird old shrines;--mossed flights of worn steps ascending to temples that moulder above the clouds;--joyous tumult of festival nights;--sheeted funeral-trains gliding by in glimmer of lanterns; murmur of household prayer in fishermen's huts on far wild coasts;--and visions of desolate little graves marked only by threads of blue smoke ascending,--graves of pet animals or birds remembered by simple hearts in the hour of prayer to Amida, the Lord of Immeasurable Light.-Lafacadio Hearn
Frankincense SuperiorMelange is a blend of the essential oils of Boswellia sacra, B. carterrii, B. rivae, B. neglecta, b. serrata, and B. papyrifera. This skillful blend of the diifferent species of frankincence resin captures a lovely range of the aromatic molecules of this sacred tree. According to what region of Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Oman etc the tree grows in, the soil type in which it lodges it roots, the dna of the tree and many other factors, the resins are produced each having their own unique chemical makeup. Their is a pool of commonly shared aromatic molecules although they are invariably in different proportions depending on the species and then each will have its own unique molecules which in most cases are present in quite small quantities yet their olfactory impact can be pronounced. So in the end a nicely done blend creates and entirely new frankincense essence that is not only a blending of the shared and unique aromatic moelcules of each but carries within it the wonderful aromatic traditions of each.
Frankincense Superior Melange is a water white to pale yellow liquid displayng a rich warm fruity, resinous, bouquet with delicate green balsamic undertone. In some frankincense oils there is a pronounced terpenic tone that gives a sharper edge to the oil but in the blend this sharpness is greatly reduced and one participates in a smoother aromatic journey from top to base notes. Entering into the ancient world encapsulated in this fine blend is an adventure in itself take one into atmospher of deep devotion that unites the Eastern and Western spiritual traditons as frankincense is venerated in both as an agent of inner transformation helping one to, at least temporarily suspend their attachment to their worldly life and focus on the refined inner dimensions of their being,
This blend is a superb aromatic chord that can be utilized in sacred perfumes, oriental creations, colognes, high class florals, etc.
