Absolute 8        Lovage -- Myrrh

Lovage Root Absolute is extracted from the roots of Levisticum officinale. The Main center for growing the roots is in central and south Europe. The roots are generally sent to France for extraction. The absolute is a viscous dark brown or dark amber liquid displaying a warm, rich, sweet, spicy, rooty odor with a with a precious woods, coumarinic, slightly musky undertone.

In perfumery it is appreciated for the unique effects it creates in tiny amounts. It creates a warm background in oriental creations, spicy bases, and fougere bouquets. Blood Orange

Citrus fruits have been cultivated in Italy since ancient times, introduced during the Moorish rule and expanded with varieties brought by Genovese and Portuguese crusaders. The Blood, Moro, or Maltese Oranges are very old orange varieties. There is some historical evidence that the blood orange hybrid first appeared in Southern Europe around 1850 and was then brought to North America many decades later by Spanish and Italian immigrants. In the former British Empire, blood oranges were called "Maltese" oranges.In Sicily, the "blood," "blood-red." or "blush" orange gained its nickname because of its ruby flesh that contains the red pigment anthocyanin, a strong antioxidant.
